CALPE PROMENADE BOWLS CLUB - MEMBERSHIP MEMORIAL PAGE

Mr. Martyn Tucker - 26th September 2024         Mr. Peter Foster 21st February 2025

Martyn Tucker, along with his Wife Kay and Daughter Erica made it possible for CPBC to exist. His legacy is that it remains one of the most attractive venues for playing flat green bowls, and not just in Spain.

I hope that we can continue to play bowls at CPBC and encourage our beautiful sport, so then we can repay his generosity and justify his belief in our club, and  members.

All at CPBC, the LLB, our members, visitors and touring teams owe you a great debt of thanks.

Peter Foster was invited to start up our website which he did, totally on his own, you can clearly see here what a talent Peter had. It was due to his individual hard work, that he was made a Honorary Member of CPBC.

We have gone through some tough times, but  it was always great, along with our new found friends, to look through our perfectly manicured website.

I hope that I can do him justice by continuing with his great work. (thank you so much M8)

It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform everybody at CPBC of the loss of 2 of our very good and personal friends

Don Greenshields - 8th June 2026

Don and Elaine have been visiting our club for many years now and the news of his death came as a complete shock, especially as Don´s health seemed to be improving and even on a few occasions had a short roll-up.

I know that our members and friends that visit us, will, along with Patricia and myself, send their deepest sympathy to Elaine and her family.

I know Don will be sadly missed both in Scotland and in Spain.

God bless you Don, and keep you safe in his arms.

Christine Speedie - 8th June 2026

Christine Speedie RIP 20260608__PIC_0189.JPG

Christine was the Wife of Charlie Speedie, who was our Team Skip in Triples for many years when we played for Finca Guila in the Northern League of the LLB. (Charlie passed away a few years ago) In 2013 we managed to win the Valencian Triples. and Christine supported us all the way to the final at Monte Mar, she  was a fine bowler herself, both in Perth and in Spain, but suffered ill health over many years, Pat always kept in touch.

I believe that Christine recently spent some time in hospital, however, passed away at home.

God bless you Christine, and keep you safe by his side,
